Dian Pritasari Jeger is notorious as the first person in Bali that studied psychosomatic and palliative medicine subspecialty in internal medicine. During her medical study and internal medicine study, she has an interest in caring for patients with psychosocial-spiritual problems and patients in their end-of-life stage but never been taught how to manage these patients correctly. She established the psychosomatic and palliative medicine division in Udayana University Bali since 2021 and has been studying this subspecialty at Indonesia University Jakarta since 2022 until now. By establishing the division and studying the subspecialty, she hopes she can provide better management for her patients, teach medical students and internal medicine students about the importance of psychosomatic and palliative medicine in general practice, and promote research in psychosomatic and palliative medicine.
Despite being new to psychosomatics and palliative medicine, she has been entrusted as a speaker in some local and regional events. She also participate at various national and international events. Since she studied at Indonesia University Jakarta, she has an opportunity to become the observer at ASCO Palliative Care e-Course Malaysia 2023. Throughout the e-Course, she gained a profound understanding that palliative care should delivered to all terminally ill patients. After finishing the course, she encapsulated her realization in a quote: "While we may not be able to cure every patient, we can certainly provide them with the best possible care to enhance their quality of life."
Hypnotherapy is become one of the treatment option for patient with psychosomatic disorder and palliative state. For both conditions, hypnotherapy can provide better symptoms management and improve patient's quality of life.
