Hypnotherapy can be used as one method of treatment of health problems. Hypnotherapy is a therapeutic method using hypnosis / hypnosis. This method is used for providing positive suggestions to the client. Hypnotherapy continues to experience growth and become one form of psychotherapy in the medical / nursing.
As indicated by the APA (the American Psychological Association), Dictionary of Psychology.edisi 2007, scientific evidence shows hypnotherapy can be beneficial to overcome hypertension, asthma, insomnia, pain management of acute or chronic, anorexia, nervosa, excessive eating, smoking, and interference personality. Effectiveness as a "supportive therapy" in some diseases have also been proven.
Applications of hypnosis in the medical world is still very minimal. And based on clinical and experimental research, hypnosis is very effective in the management of pain sensation. This is mainly due to more hypnotic viewed through a psychological than physiological perspective. Research regarding the psychological and physiological mechanisms supports the idea of the use of attention to give control of mind over body. This means involving the patient in the recovery process by providing control over their own health.
